there are many macro growing on my LR. im worried wether they are good or bad. here are the names:

    1) Chaetomorpha aerea (not the normal spaghetti cheato, its long and creates carpet on LR)
    2)Maiden's Hair Plant (Chlorodesmis sp.)
3)Red flame algae or dragons breath algae
    4)halmedia
5)green hairy fury algae.(growing thick like fur)
    6)green hair algae

cant make out diff. between the greens. let me know if you know the diff. here are the pics attached.

Look to me like Turf Algae. It's considered a nuisance to most but I like the way it looks so I leave it be. It's never became invasive IME.

With the turf algae, it's slow and hard to remove too. I like it in small amounts but if you're worried about it spreading too much, try to peel off the entire patch. The turf spots look large enough to be able to easily peel them off the rock. The smaller the patch the harder it is to remove. Be dilligent and you will get it all taken care of.

When I remove algae, I use a tiny air tube to scratch and siphon the algae into a bucket as I'm cleaning, this way it doesn't spread (turn off pumps and powerheads)

    Good luck, keep posting!

You have nothing to worry on any of those macros. I would watch the Chaeto though as it can start to over grow your substrate. But the others will help keeping the tank clean and prevent the micro algae from growing.

I would leave them if you like how they appear. If you don't, take them out. The Halimedia is a good treat food for tangs too so, if you have a fuge cut some off and have it grow in there. Then every once in a while you can drop some in the tank to feed your herbivores.

The green hair is a micro algea though and I agree with monkey let it grow if it stays on the live rock.

Biofreak you're saying Chaeto will grown on the sand bed? I just threw some in to the back of my Biocube and threw a 6500k bulb over it. I have halmieda but it grows slow, sticks to rocks, and isn't very attractive so I may or may not toss it (will make thread later)

But now I'm worried that my Chaeto will start going wild and become a problem
