well I could start feeding them more..but for my brain to look unhappy after 2 weeks I hardly doubt is from lack of target feeding. My acan just finished dying today. again I didnt think they would die from not getting fed enough.

I see. It sounded like you were only feeding twice a week. I never target fed any coral I had. I fed the fish twice a day, and fed rotties or cyclopeze or oyster eggs everyother day or so.

So ya, obviously we do not want to over feed.... but just feed what is right and feed as much you can.. up until you start seeing signs of overfeeding. You could try and taget feeding the problem corals and see if they get better. Sometimes corals don't make it and there really is no rhyme or reason.

Oh ya.... don't rule out the posssiblity of fish nipping them. I swore that was not the case on one of my brains until I saw my Blenny nipping at it. Removed the Blenny and the brain made a miraculous recovery.;)

yeah now I remember why I stopped target feeding because my angel fish eats it out all the polyps when I do..

If you are having issues with your LPS corals, have you considered that possibly your angel is nipping at them and this isn't a water chemistry issue at all?

angel could be a very big possibility of nipping at them. Plus other fish I have had also loved dining on my acans and brains. I had a bicolor blenny that I had to rehome because he would eat them

Most of the time, when my parameters are in check and an LPS coral isn't doing well, it's a placement issue. They can be very finicky about placement, too little flow, too much flow, too little light, too much light, flow is coming at a direction they don't like etc... I almost never target feed any LPS corals, so I doubt underfeeding, but it depends what you have. Certainly anything is possible. Also, some algae such as certain dinoflagellates can be toxic to them, just something else to look for. Or other toxins, running carbon should help with either of those scenarios. You didn't mention mg, but LPS can be sensitive to low mg. Otherwise, an Angel very definitely be the culprit.

my coral beauty ive had for a year he/she is not to my knowledge a nipper. I am thinking about downgrading my hydor 3 to a evolution 550. I already have enough flow I believe.

I wouldn't worry about it, 1000's of people have skimmers and keep all types of corals. me included. you have other issues
