    Hi all,

So I came home from work tonight and I'm extremely glad I checked my tank temp. It was 85 and climbing!! I just hope everyone is gonna be ok. I've had my 75 gallon salt up and running for several months without a lot of issues temperature wise. I've been using a 300 watt Aqueon submersible heater. The temp does fluctuate some but not like this. It was literally stuck on and would not turn off even when turned all the way down. What a piece of junk.

Any suggestions for a submersible heater thats somewhat compact like the Aqueon? Thanks.

I had a 150watt aqueon that killed my S. irritan piranha a few years ago. Five year old fish gone overnight. Needless to say it went into the trash...lesson learned.

I recently bought the 100w version for my 20g tank. Also from Bulk Reef Supply. My old heater (200w) stuck on and overnight the temp went up to 96. Needless to say, 98% of everything in the tank died. I love the new Finnex heater as it has the current temp displayed right on the front of the heater. Now I don't have to fish out my glass thermometer anymore whenever I want to know my tank temp :)

After having a number of stealth heaters crap out, I have switched to Finnex HMO heaters and so far, so good. I do have them plugged into a separate controller as well though, to shut them off if they get stuck on.

I am using two of the Aqueon submersible heater pro models on my 125 I am placing two different orders this week and one of them includes a temp alarm. Have been talking about them since we set the tank up time to buy.
