Any one have any experience with this salt? Just picked up a bucket from lfs to replace a diminishing bucket of reef crystals and figured id give it a shot. Just seeing if anyone has first hand experience with it and what your thoughts were.

I've used it, my batch was giving low magnesium so I switched it over to red sea coral pro salt. Its a good salt however.

nc208082... what did the batch test state the MG was? They batch test so the numbers on the label should be spot on

It was giving me around 1280. And my gurantee was 1321. I prefer to have it higher closer to 1400.

How were other parameters? Pretty close to stated value on bucket?

I used it, went through a 120 gallon bucket and switched back to instant ocean. I thought if I bought a higher quality salt my tank would flourish, it didnt change much. The real parameters being stated right on the bucket was nice.

If you have extra cash to blow then get this salt, otherwise save your self the 20-40 dollars and get instant ocean or reef crystals.

Did you get the full 120 gallons out of it? I know that I get much less then the 160 gallons the reef crystals bucket states being that I mix at 1.025-1.026, vs their statement of 160gallsons at 1.023 .... this bucket of salinity says it will mix 220 gallons (dont have bucket infront of me might be 225) at 1.026 which if ends up being true I think it would end up being less $ then RC in the end if not the same price....but in the end cost of salt is a drop in the bucket, so Im not worried about paying a little more for a better product....

I had to get very close to the 120 gallons. It mixes up at 1.026. I got a 200 gallon box of instant ocean for 45 bucks or something vs $70 for a 120 gallon bucket of the aquavitro.

it smells like crap when you mix it up. It has a higher sulfer content than other salts.
