I'm comfused with how to connect bulkhead plumbing to sump and return lines from sump/return pump to return bulkhead in display tank.

    Hard PVC?
    Vynal tubing?
    Ball valves?
    What adhesives are safe?
    tips???
    etc........

    Anything helps!

    Thanks reefers!

Here is my Bulkhead Installation Tips Sticky:

I prefer a mixture of PVC and heavy or reinforced vinyl tubing myself. The vinyl is flexible so is more forgiving with bends, angles and things that don't quite line up perfectly. PVC is good for standpipes and through the bulkheads but hooked directly to a pump it transmits noise and vibrations and magnifies them sometimes. By mixing the two you get the best of both worlds.

I use a ball valve on the discharge side of pumps to regulate flow if needed and to isolate things for cleaning and maintenance.

There are a lot of articles on sumps and plumbing but I think Melev has one of the best at Melevsreef.com - Welcome! .
