    Hi,

I've been looking for a simple black background for my tank and every rollup background I find on the internet says "Not recommended for Acrylic Aquariums". I just want to stick it on the outside and I can't understand why the tank being acrylic makes a difference. Does anyone know why they warn against doing this / has anyone done this with their acrylic tank or does anyone know of any acrylic safe backgrounds?

My wallpaper in the room is "pistachio" so it's kind of unappealing when looking through the tank and you see this greenish much like color on the otherside (not to mention the HOB Skimmer too). Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

I dont know why they would recommend that. Some people use really dark window tinting film for their tanks. You can also just paint it.

I already have fish in it, else I would have painted it. Don't feel comfortable painting it now and i only have like 8 inches of clearance between the tank and the wall so that could get messy haha. Well if I don't get any reasons not to, I think I'll just take the chance and put 1 on the back even if it warns about it. Maybe the warning is about putting the background inside the aquarium?
