AquaClear HOB refugium question.

Hello everyone. I am setting up my first tank with the following specs.

29gallon
AquaC RemoraS protein skimmer
jabeo wp-25
4bulb t5HO

I was looking at using one of my spare aquaclear filters to make a HOB refugium as I have no sump and would like to produce copeopods to feed a future mandarin goby.

I currently have an aquaclear model 50, 70, and 110

Would it be best to run the fuge in the 70 and filterfloss and boyds chemipure in the 50? Or run a 110 fuge with a impeller from a 70 or 50 (to slow down the flow) with filterfloss and chemipure in the chamber before the fuge? I'm really torn with what to do here. Any advice?

 

Make the fuge as large as you can to start with, it will give you more of the benefits you want. You could start with the 100 as-is and if the flow ends up being too fast you can always change the impellers out later.
