I have a 110 Aquaclear filter. If I used a piece of airline tubing with one end in the filter and the other end in the main tank would I be able to drip kalkwasser at night? I guess I would use a valve at the end of the tubing but I am not sure if a slow drip would stop because of loss of suction. Any suggestions?

You want to put the Kalk in the filter and have it drip into the tank from the filter?

I see a couple potential problems if I understand what you are wanting to try.

First is if you hang the filter on the back of the tank you are dosing, you wont have the gravity to keep a slow drip.

Second is if you are running the filter motor the sediment will not have a chance to settle to the bottom like it should.

If you have an auto top off system in place, it would be easier to add a container in between the DI and the float valve in the tank so that all of your top off water is "kalk", it only costs enough money for the container and an additional float valve. Mine is not in place yet, but I think I will be going this route myself.

I do not have an auto top off. I do not have a sump. What do you mean by a container in between the DI and the float valve in the tank? Can you explain.

I would simply set up and I.V. type system.
Kent makes a great little dosser for Kalk, but it works on gravity so it would have to be hung higher than the top of the water

I second the drip method as I have the 2.5 gallon kent aquadoser. Just build a little shelf above the tank, and place it there. Works like a charm.

I have no place to hide the Kent Aquadose. My tank is in my Dining room. I could build domething and place it on top but it would look like crap.
