Hey guys, I just bought two Aqua Connect 14K 175watt bulbs from a seller on ebay that ordered the wrong size. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. He's selling them for $17.50 each which is insane. He still has 4 more left if anyone is interested. These are supposed to be top of the line, $115 each bulbs!
Anyone ever used them.. whats your thoughts?

He sold the other 4 already. I'm really curious how they are compared to my Coralvue 14ks

They are supposedly the Pheonix 14K bulbs. They are usually more expensive though. I think this is because Pheonix is really a grey market bulb in the US market. For the price it sounds too good to be true, but never know.

They have the info screened on the bulbs and the shape of the bulb and insides look way different then any I have seen.

Hey got them and they are running perfect.
They are much less blue then the Coralvue 14k. They actually look EXACTLY like the Coralvue 10k I previously had.. just a bit brighter I think. I can see how they get a higher par, especially that they are less blue. They honestly look like a 10k not 14k to me.

I've given them anther few min to warm up and now they look like what I would say is 12k. Actually PERFECT for the color I was looking for. Right inbetween the 14k I had and the 10k

Here is two pictures to compare. The coralvues appear a little more blue in the pic then they are to the eye. Now actinic or any other lighting either.

Ok. guys, that cell camera wasn't doing any justice.
These things have now been running for a while and have so much POP to them they look like they're well over the 175 watt look of most bulbs I've seen. The look like the Coralvue 175 10k+ my two regular 40 watt 10ks running in my old setup with a tinge more blue.
These are running on Magnetic ballasts
Here's some shots with the good camera. NO flash
