Aqua C Remora SKimmer: I'm sick of it not working, help me fix it.

Nah nothing is leaking right now.

Sadly I have no idea where my little cleaner is. Alas, screwed...lol

 

Try to get a slim brush from the grocery store or hardware store. I found when I put that screw back in I just seated it and gave it about 3/4 turn extra. don't want to screw it in too far. also clean pump like others have said. These are good skimmers, you should get good results from it. good luck!

 

Everything everyone has mentioned sounds good, I will add a more simple adjustment. Have you tried lowering the collection chamber just a tad?

 

I used to have the Remora (and Pro) - swaps with vinegar helps clean the injector out. You can see some of my tinkerings with this skimmer here:

So I am pleased to report and several, and I mean MANY lol, cleanings of my protein skimmer and taking a metal coat hanger to the injector I finally having it skimming like it should! I also cleaned out the pump very well.

Oh how it skims now. I am actually shocked at how well its going. I'll post a video of the difference soon.

It is a good skimmer. I am glad you figured it out. You must have lost the instructions, they state you have to keep the injector clean and provide the brush for it.

 

Nah I was cleaning with the brush but for some reason it wasn't really working out very well. I took it out and scrubbed it like crazy in the bath tub forever and then push that metal hanger through it and wiggled it around really good and then it was bubbling up like crazy!
