I purchased an e.e. shroom 2 years ago. The rock frag it came on had aptasia. Aptasia X (usually) works, when one pops up... thus the reason I have no p-shrimp.

During an in-the-dark inspection last night, my flashlight found a quarter sized, snow white aptasia nem growing inside my chiller pump. The nem is located in a place that doesnt allow access without breaking the plastic housing.

Over the past 2 years, Ive found 1 - 2 aptasia per month, more or less. I dont want to kill my 4 year old tank, but its getting worse. Should I rock dip? ....new rock .... Any suggestions?

(we need to invent a blanket additive for some of these nuisances)

ermm whats the problem? the one in your chiller? By the sounds of it theres nothing you can do it about it.

As far as the odd one popping up in your tank, that happenes to everyone. I wouldnt worry about it too much, just zap them as you see them.

Thanks Phoenix ....None of my friends have an apt problem, but Im glad its not an uncommon thing for the odd one to pop up now and then.

Loner ....as for the chiller ....the apt is actually inside the pump that takes the water from my tank into the chiller. Ill probably have to pull the pump out and soak it in vinegar for a few hours to kill anything inside ....then soak it in distilled ...than tank water before putting it back in. Or I can replace the pump ....thanks to both of you for your input. Kindly appreciated. k++
