    Dang, sorry for your loss. I do my testing around my tank / sump ... I will be setting up a separate testing station after hearing this. K+ and sorry about your fish.

    Wow that really sucks... And here I am testing my water on the center brace of the tank because it is at my eye level...:-[::)

    Wow, I do my testing on my kitchen countertop and if you do also, Make sure you put a towel down or your wife will be #### mad when she see's the colored spots. That stuff will dye the color on laminate countertops. OOps. Very Sorry for your loss. If it was not for mistakes we would learn nothing. I just prefer not to make them.

    some of these testing chemicals are strong stuff in the instrution manule it lists
    sodium hydroxide
    hydrochloric acid
    sulfuric acid
    and others. witch are corrosive can cause burns and some can cause respiratory irritation.

    Wow, sorry to hear that buddy, karma for your expensive lesson learned! I feel your pain, I have no fish in my tank now after my oonidium outbreak...

    yeah it sucks... I wasn'pointing the blame at API.. It was my lack of hand washing that caused the problem.. And to think I'm a nurse... I of all people should know how important hand washing is... LOL.. kinda.
