Awesome, glad to hear you're up and running :). Thanks everyone for keeping this thread going, I've been reading up on it. I still haven't pulled the trigger on the Apex Lite as I'm wondering if I would be better suited to the Apex Jr.

Pink, what gaming adapter did you use specifically?

    Cool comp widget btw!

if you decide to go with it you wont be sorry. its a quality set up and is very user friendly. i purchased another controller 6 months or so ago. i couldn't do a thing with it, it was a light timer to me. im so glad someone contacted me who wanted the controller i said was not for everyone in a post or two. that it was for people who knew programming, and codes. And that i was going to purchase and apex. their offer to purchase it from me, pushed me to make the move, that i had been dragging my feet on.
i now have so many safe guards set up. like the ato water that i use kalk in. i have it set to turn the power off to it if my ph goes up to 8.35. im thinking i will buy another outlet and have it turn on plain top of water at 8.35. my outlets are all full :(

Trendnet TEW647GA is the gaming adapter. its super easy to set up. i dont think they could make it any easier, unless they came out and plugged it in for ya. haha

I will be soon ordering the Apex lite with an additional power bar expansion unit. I have a lot of things to plug in.

I'm not so sure you want to do that. Diluting salt water to lower PH is not a good way of going about it.... duh sorry... what you are saying is basically switching to plain top off water if PH is above 8.35 right?

I like safety statements outside of normal range. 8.35 is not that bad... maybe 8.4 and you probably have not got there too many times right? I had a safety on my alk dosing pump of 8.4 but of course it never happened.

i like to keep my ph around 8.2 .. i dont think you understand what i was saying. i would just have a separate top off come on at 8.35 when the other top off kicks out. this would keep the salt stable as it would the water level in the sump. and would be set to kick back off when the other is on. as im seeing it, this would keep the salt level and the ph in check. the plain ro would be a small container since it wouldn't be kicking on to much.

my sumps center area where the main pump is doesnt drop much before the top off kicks on

Ya, that's what I thought. One reason I didn't wan to run kalk. but I realize they all have their pros and cons. Several ways to skin a cat.

Hope you dont mind me chimin in on this thread but I am also looking at the Apex/Apex Lite controller for my system.

The questions I have are in the area of UPS'. Does anyone have their Apex unit tied into a UPS? If so which UPS are you using and does the Apex directly support this type of application? Can you set a "power failure" program to where if it is running off the UPS it will only run certain crucial equipment?

TIA and hope you dont mind me kinda jackin' your thread . . .

well thanks to this awesome link from Powerman I answered half of my own questions.

I see that the APEX will handle a UPS and that it will run a custom program to select specific equipment to run during a PF.

Still wondering if anyone has specific experience that I can learn from.
