Currently performing all the programming from the Apex unit. Just want to be able to access it through my home network and then my iPhone for when I'm away. Obviously if I had access to it from my home PC it would be sweet and I'd be able to back things up. If I can avoid the LAN cable routing it would help immensely.

get that wireless gaming adapter, i mentioned. im waiting for mine to arrive. i have been plugging into my lap top and sitting on the floor near the tank to program. it will be sweet to just pop on my laptop and no longer have to plug in. i want to get texts when there is a problem also. so it has to be hooked to my network somehow

The user manual I posted goes over this in depth step by step. It's all I needed to set up wireless, e-mail and text alerts. It has a ton of good info in it.

You can also turn an old linksis router in to a wireless adapter with about 20 minutes of work. it also costs less than most wireless adapters out there.

Yep, or get a wireless Ethernet bridge. "gaming adapter" is just a fancy name the companies threw over "wireless Ethernet bridge" to appeal to the gaming crowd. They are essentially the same thing, except the " gaming adapter " will usually have only one Ethernet port while the "wireless Ethernet bridge" MAY have more then one, but not always..

you know i have an old router, but after the house remodel i havent a clue where its at. i could have trashed it? any way that one i mentioned is only 34.99 cheap enough. and its what was recommended when i contacted neptune/apex , it should be arriving today.

All set up, the gaming adapter was super easy. the apex part is what gave me a bit of a head ache, i was so frazzled last night could not figure out why the connection to the apex would not work wireless. even though it was all set up and worked when i plugged in. well it appears you have to go into the apex and do a restart on the apex unit. after i did this everything worked. im now set up to receive email alerts and texts when there is a problem. i have not went in and configured what i want to be alerted to yet. that i will have to find the codes for. but i did test it and it send the test alerts to both email and my text
