no, it was free. how can i complain to them about free? lol but honestly i would have bought elsewhere, and got a 5% discount from the other company, if it were not for this offer of a free pin point probe i thought would be fine with the controller. its really not good business on their part.

They are either misleading their customers purposefully to make a sale or they are clueless and don't know what they're doing...

I have an Apex controller and love it. I pretty much run everything on advanced programming and the one touch feed is awesome. Dosing is no longer a daily chore either.

Pink - what calibrating fluids did you use for your probe?

i agree im already programming the apex in the advanced mode. my water changes are easier since i programmed my ato to stay off a bit longer after the main pump comes back on. it gives me time to be sure my water is at the right running level. with out the kalk water turning on.
i have also programmed my skimmer to stay off an extra 15 minutes after i feed. feed is 3 minutes, this has stopped the micro bubble issue i was having with my skimmer after feeding. its already showing me i made the right choice. im still tweaking, even though right now im very happy

i used the pin point calibrating fluid. should i buy the apex fluid? is that better? the apex probe seems to be reading a bit off from the pin point ph monitor. at first they were dead on. wish i knew which one was correct. right now one is reading 8.06 and the other reads 8.18 when i first calibrated they were both the same

    and where is MoJoe?

I wouldn't think the brand of calibrating fluid really matters. I was only curious.I personally have fluids from aquatic life(were pretty cheap). I've had the controller for two months now and still haven't set-up the PH probe!!(I got the lab grade version) just pure laziness on my part as I'm enjoying watching things flourish with the stability I've now achieved.

MoJoe is probably playing with his new controller!! Haha

Hey Pink, please explain on the wireless set-up if you could. Something else I haven't done but have been meaning to get around to with over 50ft of CAT-6 cable lying around...and it's all needed for the location of my tank.If I could make this baby wireless that would be a godsend!

Do you guys have the unofficial users guide? Hard to imaginre you don't.... but for those that don't here is a 130 page user manual that a USER... not a paid employee put together all on his own. Comprehensive is an understatement.

every thing is much easier to do threw your computer. i was going to run the ethernet cable to my apex. but i need almost 100 ft and i have a few walls to go threw. so decided to make it wireless with a gaming adapter. i contacted neptune to ask what they recommended and the one above is what he said he uses. and it works well. so with in 5 minutes i had it ordered off ebay.
i contacted them threw email easter morning. in a few minutes i had an answer. that company is amazing. i figured i would get an answer sometime monday . not in minutes on a holiday!

are you programming threw the apex controller? or your laptop with the apex ethernet plugged into your lap top? i have found a lot of info on reef central about setting up the apex. and advanced codes. so its a fast copy and paste with the codes :) or pick out what i want and just use that part of the code
