i can say its very easy to set up. but im having a probe issue and the outlet controlled by the probe make's the unit freeze up and than i have to un-plug the unit to get it to work. i went in and set that outlet to not be controlled by a probe than i was ok to get into it. so it has to do with the probe.
honestly... with these controllers does anyone have luck with ph probes?

Not sure on the Apex PM, but the one on my ACIII is dead on accurate and have never had an issue with it.

Very odd, it is causing yours to freeze. Let us know what they do to help you.

I have heard of this issue happening if you are not using a grounding probe.

Do you have a grounding probe connected so that measuring between the ground from the switched outlet and the ground probe ground equals zero ohms?

all i can say is MoJoe you cant go wrong with this apex controller. its amazing and when its set to view on the computer its wow. it also has a save files on your computer so if a problem occurs again i will not have to reconfigure the unit. it will do it threw the computer with a fast few clicks of the mouse.

i just got off the phone with them. they connected threw my computer and fixed the problem. they do say they dont support using another brand probes. which is what i was givin free with the apex a pin point probe.
they did see there was a corruption of some sort in the program. and re down loaded a new one into it. im really impressed with this company and how they are so willing to help. he was even showing me how to use the advanced option. which makes this controller better than i even thought.

i do have a ground probe connected. not sure what it measures though. this problem happened when i was calibrating the ph probe. which was all over the place and 10 minutes it still would not settle into a number. im buying the apex probe and will put the pin point probe aside for when i need a new probe on my pin point monitor. who knows if this is the problem. but after seeing apex quality. i would rather have their ph probe also

received my apex ph probe in the mail today. it calibrated very fast and is dead on. the pin point ph monitor is reading the same. also did a test kit reading....why? i dont know...lol just want to know all are reading correctly. ph is important.

so in conclusion of this ph probe issue i had when first setting up my apex lite. DO NOT use other brand probes.
the free pin point probe i received with my purchase of the apex apparently caused a corruption in the apex system. which luckily with a fast call to neptune/apex they fixed.
also, i can tell you the quality of the apex probe is felt when you have both probes in your hands.

Good to know. Why would someone give you a pinpoint probe that doesn't work with it though?

i dont know but when on the phone with Neptune i told them it was a pin point probe and they said they dont support using other brand probes. but would help me. im thinking they could have said sorry you messed it up using another brand item on our controller.
i think the company that is giving this free pin point probe with an apex should stop. i will leave them nameless.

gotta agree here. I don't see why they are doing this... Have you contacted them about the problem?
