Thanks, what calibration fluid/kits would you recommend?

I wanted to make sure I didn't need to buy anything else before I made my purchase.

It's just a solution buffered to a certain PH. I have buffer so I just used PH 7 and 10. You can use any you want, the narrower the rang, the more accurate for the reading you want. So 7-10 was good for mine always being 8-8.3. Where ever you order from will also probably have it. If not BRS for everything.

your local fish store should also have the calibration fluids in stock. they are cheap about a dollar each. like powerman said you will need the 7 and the 10 calibration fluids.

I pretty much run my LFS :) Due to our location and wealth of our clients, we do not have a need to carry such things. Most people in this area don't even want to pay $60 for a RBTA. I am sure most of you would jump at a 4" RBTA for$60. Anyway, I'll just order it for myself through the store or when I order my Apex.

I saw that there are single dose packages and large bottles. what would you suggest?

a rose for 60 :) they are 100 around here about 2-3 inches.

i would recommend the packs, since your not supposed to reuse the fluid. the pack is very convenient . i normally buy an extra pack of each and keep them on hand.

I was thinking about buying 4 or 5 or the 7 and 10 packets. That way i would have enough to recalibrate monthly and not need to do orders monthly.

i have never bought the large container of 7 &10 fluid so im not sure how people use this. im guessing pour a small amount into a shot glass or something???? the packet i cut open and place the packet with fluid in a cup to hold it upright. i can get both packets in one short cup.
