For real, they are too small and do look surprisingly like mysis shrimp under magnification.
I must look like a nut with this headset on pressed up against the glass.Any ideas as to why now and how this happened.I havnt fed live mysis ever,Never seen these in the tank.No new sand or rock recently either.I did just replace my bulbs today but dont see how thats relevent.

Moderator should we maybe move this over to inverts since this possibly seems like some sort of random invert hatch?

ok so my eyes are blury from straining but the tail does look forked maybe but I cannot find any antenna or feelers on the front.I have seen a couple curl up like a shrimp and then return to a head down tail up position.

You know, my other thought was hermit crab fry, and there were several hermits in the corner the fry were in.

Found this vid when searching for hermit crab fry pics...
    YouTube - Hermit crab larvae

Further down in the thread (another site, not sure if I can post it or not LOL), there are pics of hermit fry, but their tails don't really look like what I had.

I don't know, I guess we'll find out! From what little I read, they're easier than shrimp. The weird thing is, with the shrimp my fish (well, in my old tanks) would go crazy eating them. My cardinals & shrimp weren't eating these, the smaller cardinal seemed to even be dodging them LOL.
