Karma yes, and they will get it back to them in the end. Once it is in your hands, they should have nothing to say about it.

As soon as you mentioned craigs list, I thought it was a scam. But then again, I bought $40 worth of frags from a guy in my club one week, and a week later he offered me everything in his tank for free, as long as I helped him break it down. I ended up with over $660 in credit at the LFS. So, good things do happen to folks, but I try not to over analyze the good with the bad. I just try to put out positive energy in everything I do, and sometimes great things happen, and sometime bad things happen. It all just depends on how I react to them.

    Karma, no. Coincidence, yes.

Dirt bags, yes. Dude should be ashamed. Props to you for trying to do a good thing.

that's unfortunate. I do believe in karma but also believe that if it seems to good to be true, than it probably is... I rarely get worked up about anything these day, until it's 100% a reality.

not always, i did luck out last week with a tank break down, the guy was moving and needed stuff out of his house ad wanted to give it to someone that would put it to good use....i spent $50 and got:
-A small colony of candy cane coral(4 heads)
-a small colony of hammer coral(3 heads)
-A bunch of little frags of pocillopora(whatever i could snap off back of the tank, i think about 8 or 9)
-a large colony of zoos(100+ polyps)
-a flower pot coral either red or pink(about 9 heads)
-whatever various mushrooms that were floating around
    -a 50 GPD corallife RO/DI
    -a refractometer
    -a couple powerheads
-a 36" odyssea 250w mh/2x65w pc combo with some bulbs
    -a couple of fuge lights
-and a seaclone 150 skimmer that i picked up for a friend

my friend threw me $20 for the skimmer and said heres for the gas and toll i spent so technically i only spent $30 on the rest

I immediately turned around and made up a handful of frags of the zoo colony and gave them away to the first few beginners to respond to me and even threw in a couple small mushrooms too

so alright i didnt get this mouth drooling dream tank but i did have a lot of good luck recently so i cant really complain too much other than how much disrespect i was shown by a fellow reefer who couldnt handle not being able to lowball me into giving him a 15lb piece of LR that he sold to me and wanted me to sellit back to him for half the price

if you look around hard enough in your reef clubs it isnt as hard as it seems ive had a few other guys hook me up withe free and cheap frags as well...also my local club has a DBTC (Dont Break the Chain) section which is for people who give away frags for free as long as the guy the give them to agree to frag it for free in the future for atleast the first few frags of it to help some other guys out etc
