Anyone ever take a glass pane off and then reapply?

I'm thinking about taking the front pane off my 10g then flipping the tank, cutting the glass to fit and reapplying it. So the dimensions would be 20long, 12 deep, 10high. Would this work? Only thing I'm worried about would be not being able to reuse the black trim on top or bottom.

I would not do it unless you can get the black trim back on it. Might be ok since it's only 10 gallons but I would have a hard time trusting the seals.

I took a side panel of glass off of a 10 gallon and was able to cut the black trim off and get it all clean and ready to put back together. I never finished it and went to get a new 1o gallon because I didn't want to take the risk of it leaking. Best of Luck

Ya that's the only thing I'm a bit worried about. The black trim. The 10g is brand new but where it is going to go the new dimensions would work way better. I'm just brainstorming.

It's worth a shot...Only $10 or $12 bucks if it doesn't work out. I'm sure it can work if you be sure to seal it well.
