I got mine done through the Army, so a little bit different in my case. I didn't qualify for LASIK because my cornea was way to thin and had to go with PRK. I know a lot of people that have had either or, and they are having no problems at all with the surgery. I think that in the past, people had more of a chance to need glasses even after the procedure, but I don't really think that is the case any more especially with PRK.

Just do your research and find the place with the best reputation in the area to do it.

That is her prescription for the contacts that she wears in her eyes. It has nothing to do with aquariums.

I had Lasik done in '97 (20/90 vision). The doctor, if he's any good, will tell you it's best to wait until you're at least 30, as all it's doing is resetting the clock on your eyesight. Your eyesight will still change over time just like before the surgery, and some people's changes faster than others due to many factors. I work on a computer all day, then come home & get on the computer. I had perfect vision until I started working on computers, then it deteriorated fast.

I was nearsighted before, now that I'm in my 40's I'm farsighted. I always joke that if I had waited I'd probably be at 20/20 again now LOL. I did it because wearing glasses for a year hurt my nose, and wearing contacts for many years was to the point that I couldn't go 4 hours without them starting to irritate me. I'm about to look into finding out if I can do it again.

Hope you find something that works for your left eye. My left one was also oddly shaped, but I wore contacts for years before they started bugging me. The first month was weird though.

That is a good point about waiting until you are 30. In the Army, one requirement was that you prescription had to be the same for at least 2 years or more. Mine was the same for at least 4 years before I had my surgery done.
