As the title suggests, who's keeping a pipefish in a nano or their reef?

I was looking into getting one or a pair of the bluestripe pipefish for my BioCube (they stay 2-3").

And a general question, can/do seahorses get stung by plate/fungids?

There's two corals called plate corals in that genera

Heliofungia plate corals pack a nasty wallop....i.e. not a good tankmate

Fungia plate corals are pretty harmless

    me TOO

    hi,
I was thinking about it but then I read they are almost 100% wild caught, that worries me cause that can make feeding more difficult and the risk to my water column goes up because I share the sump with a main system for my seahorses and maintank , seahorses will eat frozen and don't require live the way pipefish do.
Another problem is a diet of live brine maynot be healthy 100% of the time most of my LPS don't have live foods except just brine .You would need to supply other live foods that may require you to raise the food.
So thats my concern about feeding.

Many say the bluestripe is the easiest to wean onto prepared. <Most will even take it w/o training!

Thanks for the help guys :) I'm getting a chiller soon, so my little 14 will be rockin !

Curt, which are the helios? The long tentacle, or is it a different species alltogether? <If that's the case, I'm in the clear :)

Do you think a red brain (i believe lobophyllia) would give the pipes a problem? Hes about 2"x.5"
