I work in Campbell but live in the Santa Cruz area.

I've been to every reef club in the state besides two. I have yet to see a club I didn't enjoy :)

There's a couple. NCRC is a smaller club, but supoer friendly and helpful. They just had a fragswap yesterday that 30 or so people went to. It was great fun (and the BBQ was great as well). NCRC doesn't hold meetings like BAR does, or rather, I haven't seen them bring in any speakers yet.

Then there is BAR - Bay Area Reefers. They're a larger/older club. Their last regional swap brought in about 300 people. They bring in speakers every other month to Chabot College (every other month- second saturday). Unlike NCRC they charge dues (how they bring in speakers and such). It's a lopw $20 for the year and very worth it. They started the Don't Break The Chain program that numerous clubs across the nation have embraced. What is DBTC | Bay Area Reefers

Shameless plug (I host this event) while not a club, there is a yearly reef conference called BAYMAC - the Bay Area Marine Aquarium Conference. www.thebaymac.com | Bay Area Marine Aquarium Conference

BTW Matt Rogers, our fearless 3reef founder, lives up in Richmond.
