any way to find out prices of... fish/coral HELP

I agree with this. The jeweler I occasionally work for uses his low margin to show the customers he's giving them a better deal than anyone else could even possibly do. Lots of times he has estate pieces, where he tells the customer the price it would cost him to make the piece, they're just shocked that his wholesale cost would be higher than the retail on those pieces!

 

well in the last year 2 of the 4 LFS in our area closed down....and one of them that is closing next week has been open since before I was a kid!

 

Otto Beldt opened that store in the 20's. He's obviously long-gone now. He was probably the original aquatic mail order company and is famous for bringing ponds and planted tanks into fashion. Many water lillies sold today are from his broodstock and he was the first breeder of many Cichlids. It's truly a shame to see his lifes work die. On the other hand, some of it is their own fault. Their tanks were often dirty and I don't like to buy fish or corals out of dirty tanks.
