The new ones, I'm looking at the NJ 5500, which pumps 1385 gph at 0' head. I'm primarily interested in noise/vibration level, and what it's output is at around 4-5' of head. I currently have a rio hyperflow 32 that's noisy and vibrates alot. Looking to go quieter on a budget.

Anybody out there using these newer versions of the maxi-jet pumps?

Buddy of mine runs one, and its virtually silent. The vortech he runs is noticeably louder if that gives you any comparison.

They demagnetize real easy IME and they are more than a Koralia Evo, which will give you better flow silently if the cord does not touch the tank.

I may be totally off mark, but I thought he was planning on using one of these for a return line?

Yeah, I'm talking the utility pumps as a return from my sump, not a circulation pump... I have Koralia's for that.;D

I have a pair of them (3000 & 5500). I will never buy another brand of in-sump return pump. Are there better out there?, sure, but you will pay out the A** for it. This is a dead quiet pump that has never once failed me, and has the best warranty out there IMO.

I was on a budget so I went with the 1100. I liked it first because of the compact size and the fair price. Its rated at 294gph 0' head, but I wanted more return rate, ended up getting a used MagDrive3 which is HUGE compare to the Maxijet pump. It comes with 3 suction cups on the bottom, which I think it reduces the noise/vibration.
