Yup...cheapies with the manual pin settings are best. I also found a 2 outlet "outdoor" manual set timer at Lowes....has a clear cover with a lit dial for $10.95 so I hoarded like a crazed reefer. ;D

I would say that it depends on your budget. The Lowe's longer power strip looks good because there is room to pull in the timers. Most power strips that I've seen block several outlets when you plug in a timer.

Alternative, get an AC Jr controller with a DC8

Aqua Controller Jr. w/ Temp Probe, Serial Port & Direct Connect 8by Neptune Systems - AquaCave

You can price shop around. Point is that by the time you buy power strips and timers you've spent 20-30% of the cost of a controller. Question is do you have the budget for the controller and get more functionality and the problem solved??

    Something to consider.

    Thanks guys,
I think i'm gonna go with the long strip from lowe's i like the idea of having room for timers and everything won't be so crowded. Thanks for your help could not do this hobby without you.

i would never get anything than the american dj i think its the pc100 or something like that.
8 plugs and lighted switches on the front.
i put some labels for each one. it makes everything so much cleaner and easier to shut off. then just run it to a gfi.

and i only payed 30 bucks new for it.

you can kinda see it in this pic

i have a guitar center by my house. they had it in the section for dj stuff.
most music/dj stores should carry it

American DJ PC-100/A 8 Port Power Center

only thing a cant plug in is my lights. but mine have timers built into it so i dont really need it on this switch panel anyways.
