k, thanks all agian, i just found that the powerhead onthat side of the tank crapped the bed!! hence, flow was non existent and i have red slime remover, just threw a dab of it in

been traveling alot for work and my tank is not getting the attention i usually give it.

Possibly a low-flow area, or maybe a build-up of nutrients in the sand in that area. The nem will tend to ward off any CuC from cleaning there. As others suggested, increase flow. You might also try vacuuming or stirring the sand periodically.

 

is that chemi clean safe? I've heard horror stories about that kind of stuff, I just ordered a bio pellet reactor because I didn't want to tempt fate with chemicals.

 

i just vacumed it out, did a quick 10 gal water change. i was thinking the same thing about the cuc.
havent seen my sand sifter star in a while, probably went deep, maybe ill throw 2 more in tommorow.
ill shape it up by the weekend, it just that it was not as red as last time i got it, which was over 2 years ago, this was kinda pale, almost white towards the outer ring of the red

 

HAHA, I took a quick look at the pic and thought it was the center piece of the discussion.....not realizing it was the Red stuff you were talking about....LOL
