I have had a reef tank for a long time and recently got it back on the way to being beautiful after being down for a while. I want to add a nem in the worst way so my clown can host in it but in the past I had problems with the nem moving around and stinging my other coral.

Anyone have an info on how it can be done?

keep clean water with stable params...

also you need intense lighting, the nems that were moving around could have been from the flow being too strong or the lights being insufficient and moving closer to the lights...

ive had lots of nems and i have only had one move from the place i put it, when putting your nem in, look for a place in the rocks that has a little cave or canopy that it can attach too and keep its foot hidden from flow, IME nems like a low of flow as possible and super strong lighting.. i just got a green and red carpet nem and it has only moved a couple inches mainly to get a better snug on the rock... alot of people say not worry about where you put them and they will find there place, but i have had alot of success taking the little time before hand and kinda make a place for the nem, a caved area, with a overhang to keep it secured around the foot, make sure it has a little flow, and depending on your lighting(halides keep it around the middle lower area of the tank, and t5s find a place in the upper middle half)...

i would suggest getting a bubble tip either green or red... these are some of the easier ones and are easily found in fish stores or locals.. another pro of them is they split, and you can either resell them or have more stuff packed in the tank
