anenome in 14gal tank

    i know they get pretty large ive taken that into concideration thats why id start small and if it gets overly big for my tnk id sell it and start small again, but i need to know if i can have it first please say if my lights are ok or not and if not what light i should get i have PL 24wat B/W i have 2 of them so 48wats all up 40cm deep tank not that deep so its pretty bright

    But if there is nothing else in there other then clowns surely it should be grand?

    It is a good point, if you have other fish that arent immune to BTA then they would more then likely get eaten

    ok so it can be ok in a 14 gal i wont get any other fish but my lighting can my lighting be ok for a bta if it goes to the highest rock which is close to the surface but not too close

    i personally wouldnt do it, but try it, it is a small tank so it could work.......

    i dont want to buy it and it die i was just wondering what is PL cause i said PL and your like ahhh PL i wouldnt do it is PL bad but in 2 months i might try it

    Its compact lighting mate, good for softies etc.. but not really for the more light demanding inverts.

    what if i took out one of my PLs and changed it for a T5 so id have a PL 24wat B/W and 1 T5 ?

    It doesnt work like that, T5's run on their own special ballast, you would have to get a whole new lighting system completely.

    I have seen "fully grown" BTAs grow to a foot or more in diameter. I just don't think it would do well in such a small tank regardless of the size of the anemone when it's purchased.

    If all you have for lights are power compacts, you can't keep one anyhow. If you were to upgrade your lighting, it's possible that the new lights would heat up the water too much and you'd cook everything in the tank. I'd consider purchasing a soft coral for your clowns to nest in instead.
