Anemone type?

    I've tried searching this forum and web and havent found anything that looks like this anemone. Can anyone help me identify or give me some info on it. Thank you for your help in advance.[​IMG]

    Are you sure it's not a Ritteri or an LTA, ingtar? Maybe a Carpet anemone? A picture would definitely help ;D

    Once you transfer the image copy the photobucket IMG code and paste it into your post .

    Please google Purple Long Tip anemone and see if that looks similar.

    A relatively easy anemone as long as lighting is sufficient and water quality decent.

    If it's not a Purple LTA, it's a dyed Sebae and that is a bad thing.

    it doesnt really look like it. the tentacles are real short and i mean its super hot pink. but something is telling me you are right about it being dyed. will this harm my tank

    No it will not harm your tank, I have seen dyed ones make a come back but that is not he norm. The anemone has usually lost all it's Zooxanthellae, is in poor condition nutrition wise and eventually starts to float about the tank. Once looses it's footing it usually a sign that it will not recover.

    Just watch it, no need to make a hasty decision right away.

    You can try feeding it very small pieces of raw sea food: fish, clams, scallops. You can get those at any local grocery store. Remove the piece if it does not take it within roughly 30 mins. Just place a small piece in the center and the anemone will slowly move to the oral opening if it is going to eat.
