I have two rose tip anemone's. they both moved off the rock on the back wall of the tank...witch is cool because it looks really good there and it seems happy. But a couple weeks ago one of them moved all the way up to the surface of the tank and it just seems content there...still looks healthy.

my water temp is alittle warm. In the summer it seems stay stay between 80-82. could this be why it moved up there? looking for cooler water...Flow is good as well.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
I assume that heat follows the same rules in water and rises, I could be wrong.

    What lighting do you have?

I have never had a BTA move to the top of the tank.

i have LED's i dont know the exact wattage or brand of lights. It may be possible i need alittle more light tho. The spot it moved to dosnt get the most light.

I have heard of BTA' moving up the walls to get closer to the fixture because of insufficient lighting.

Unfortunately I know nothing of LED's and their use with anemones.

I would hazard to guess that the LED is not providing the right type of light but that is just a guess.

Perhaps post an image of the BTA.

More than likely it is because your light isnt strong enough. Either that or your anemone is messed up. lol

In your avatar you have a clam, I am assuming you have a clam. How is it reacting your light?

My clam is doing great. I assume.. colors are nice and he is quick to close up when i shadow it. but then opens right back up. I have had it for over a year and its growing.

he is a pic for the heck of it... my gold stripe was hosted by both nems...maby the smaller one didnt like it and moved up high...

I suspect that they are searching for more light. It doesn't seem normal for them to prefer attaching to glass rather than rock.
