anemone laying on its side

    i have a carpet anemone and he decided that he wanted to be lazy and lay down.can anyone tell me why and if this is normal.... thanks

    It looks extremely bleached. Have you fed it? It needs meaty foods to feed the algae in its tissues.

    Is it attached to the rock or has it become unattached? Hard to tell by the pic. Also how long have you had it

    As stated the anemone definitely looks bleached. How long have you had it? Was it this color when you bought it? Is it attached to anything? Are the tentacles sticky? Are you spot feeding it? What are your water parameters?

    stand him up and feed him....Is his foot sticky or has it been damaged from being ripped off a rock?

    I would leave it how it is, and not force it to stand. It will create more stress on it. Try to feed it a 1/2" of silverside daily, with feeding tongs and it should start to show signs of improvement within a week.
