I've been wanting to ask about this and today my anemone gave me a perfect opportunity for pics.

It seems that the anemone (seabe) sheds "stuff" quite often. Is this normal? It seems to produce quite a bit of it, it's a bit anemone so maybe "a lot" is relative. My clown likes to eat it (if it floats by) which seems gross but at least he gets rid of it temporarily. Should I be trying to manually remove it or just siphon it if it's floating by during a water change? Is it really bad for water quality (ie: toxic) or is it equal to detritus?

Just wondering... Anyway here are a couple pics of it.

Here you can see it at the base of the anemone...

I would not be terribly worried. You can syphon it if you want, but it seems like normal sloughing.

THOUGH, looking at your light setup, you might need to add some more intense lighting. Maybe T5? ^.^

That tank has two 48" T5's and 2 T12's. I'll have to check my tank setup page and make sure it is right...

Yeah I made a mistake on it page. It should have said:
    Lights: T5 actinic, T5 50/50, (2)T12 daylight

    Thanks for pointing that out!
