ane stuck in a powerhead

i have a ane stuck in a powerhead. it looks like its just the body and not the foot. its a LTA pertty big. was thinking of cutting it close but not sur need some info pla very much ty.

 

never had this happen so cant speak on experience...but i would just let it be and the nem should be able to get out...since their like 90% water, it should be able to crawl out...if you try and pull it out it will prolly tear it up...

 

if your water gets cloudy, check ammonia.....regardless check your ammonia...if you see any then the nem is a goner and is starting to release the toxins in your system...

if your params show no ammonia then let it be and hopefully the nem will make it..

 

Not to be a debby downer..but this happened to me and nuked my tank...just do some water changes and hope for the best!

 

for poop and giggles it wont leave then what?

 

depending on what is of more value, either take some pliers and break up the cage on the powerhead so you dont have to pull the nem out...or maybe try and take a butter knife and just ever so slowly try and push it free very carefullyy

 

ive read stuff on this happening, and depending how bad it was, the nem would eventually work its way out the jam.. i would prolly do a good wateer change, and then maybe take an ammonia test before you go to bed and first thing in the morning..

 

testing atm and looking great. should i just leave the powerhead off? stupid question but had to ask.

 

i really have only one spot to put him atm until i add more fish cause i have lots of LR everywhere. thing of start a sump of some sort to move some of the LR.

 

Yes. leave the PH off. Dont want him to get sucked in any farther.
