My 55 gal. I have 30 lbs of sand so far. I want to add live sand to it right before I start cycling.

Just of the aquarium. I can't decide whether to paint or use a background for the back yet. The cords drive me nuts LOL

Just looking at this is making me have chills. YAY

Looks good I would paint the back of it black or blue (black is what I would choose) it can be removed if you want it off for what ever reason I just used a razor. The backgrounds that are easy to remove always get salt behind them and never really look as good and all that tape residue is a pain to get off.

Definitely paint the back. If you can get a cup or two of sand from your LFS or a fellow reefer instead of buying commercial live sand. You will get a better population mix from the two cups of sand than a bag of "live sand".

    great looking start Pet Mother
plain black backgrounds are available where I shop
and I went with one of those in order not to need to directly paint the tank

tank was up and running, full of water, before I considered this
so a plain black background , and some assistance from my son, was added to the back
after the tank was set up

if you cant get a plain black or dark blue background
get one with pictures on, and then using acrylic paint - paint it black ( I got this idea from the Rolling Stones)
