Amphipods eat copepods and detritus and will become food for your fish and motile invertebrates.

i havent seen anything but the amphipods. no fish to produce deatrus. and no copepods. but if the amphipods are in there they must be feeding on something right? i dont know im kind of confused. how is there amphipods with no food source. do they eat the stuff that grows on the LR too?

They probably came in your live rock's holes. They will be fine. I don't think you need to feed just for them. Mine are reproducing without any special feeding, but then again, I do have fish and stuff in my tank that need feeding, so they get their food from that.

Are you cycling the tank or just starting to set it up?
