Lol I was watching Mr. Saltwater Tank's MACNA review and they had a product spotlight on this.... I was thinking damn I might have been able to get a design patent on this because at the time there were only bulb target feeders. Oh well, I know I wasn't the first!

A couple of teaser pictures for an update. When I got my stand the gentleman who build it had a weird suede curtain over the front that wasn't bad looking, but is a pain in the ass if you have five cats of need to do stuff underneath. I knew i had to project this.

At first I thought I would just build some easy swinging doors. That turned out to be a pain in the you know what due to the construction of the stand. Then I figured I would place some flush mount hangers and have a gap at the top. This also would be problematic due to the dimensions of the doors. Then the day after Christmas it came to me.... MAGNETS!

I had to fabricate a couple of corner pieces along with a raised base for my 10g refugium. I love my chop saw and scroll saw, (notice the are both Hitachi product placement endorcement please) and the made quick work of this project!

Now what i did was take steel/zinc wood screw and set them into the stand. On the 1/2" oak ply I set in anther screw. In between I used 1/4" rare earth magnets. This seems to work very well!
    [IMG][IMG]

As you can see there is a 1/2"-1' gap at the top. This is because the sheets at Lowes for oak ply are 4'X2' and the stand opening is 25" tall. I am going to trim these up in covering the gap at the top and bring a nice finish to the stand. I will also be adding a pair of black matte handles to each panel and staining them to match the rest of the stand (i hope!)

You dont like my mismatched T5's? Elitist!! I'll need some help with swapping out color spectrum i think. I have 24 leds 12 white 12 Royal Blue. I want to throw in a green and red onto one of the drivers but i know RB and White use different amps. Also they should be her next weekish.

Silly rabbit, there are two tangs in that video. The second tang is right at the end.
