    Thanks everyone for the ideas.

I used the Q-Tip and kalk paste described by Coralline.

Applied it, let it sit out for about 5 minutes. Rinsed the frag in a cup of DT water. I could still see it there, so I hit it again with a little more paste and let it sit for another couple minutes. Rinsed one more time in the DT water and then lightly scraped it with a tip of a razor blade. It came right off foot and all. Gave it one final rinse and then back in the QT tank.

Will have to see if it comes back in the next couple of weeks.

Totally agree in this situation, but disagree in others-let me explain myself

I agree boiling water into a zoa frag is a big no no for the obvious reason of damaging the zoas.

But where I disagree,is boiling water in a syringe is my prefered method when it's not close to a coral. When you get one in an open area, you need to work fast so the water does not have a chance to cool off and I have found that boiling water injected superheats the surrounding water in the immediate area also killing any spores released. When killed,it's gone, even better,it's free.

I'm not saying superglue doesn't work, just one way i've never tried.

It's actually joes juice that I've found will cause a release of spores, seemed like every one I killed with joes juice,it just gave me a few more somewhere else, lol. The reason I recommended it here was so he would not damage the frag.

Corailline's method is probably the best one because of doing it out of the tank and rinsing before going back in the tank, but that applies here because not every coral or rock can always be removed from the tank.

Thankfully now is a time where aiptasia is not on my troublemaker list, been several months since i've seen one.I had 5 lined up for execution, lol, and the day I decided was a good time to nuke them,my lazy peppermint went on a crazed killing spree and did the job for me.So now he's finally earned his keep.:cheesy:

I haven't tried boiling water in a syringe to inject the aptasia. That MAY work fro larger ones, but even if it dies, whatever "dead" tissue is left will grow back if you don't crape it all off. in my opinion... even the stringe method I wouldn't even try. for small baby aptasia that peobably wouldn't work. I stand by my crazy or super glue method 100%. That's how I do it and I know it works! :p

    Nice comeback,lol.
I always sucked the dead nem up with the syringe, never had one return with this method. But just another great debate on how there is no one set way for people to do things in this hobby. But it's all good,as you can never have too many tricks up your sleeve when dealing with pest or issues.I still stand behind my boiling water for open ones and I still like joes juice for close to corals, however the next time I have to deal with them,I may just have to give the superglue a try.;)
