I just bought a 75 drilled n 20 g fuge last night to replacey tank. I'm going to swap tanks tonight. Here's the prob. The fuge is a very well established DSB with a giant ball of chaeto, and loaded with pods. I moved it wet and have it set up till it s installed.
Here's my problem. I seen 3-4 aiptasias in the fuge section. I did nt see any in the tank when I broke it down.

    So,

    1. Is there ill get a aiptasia breakout from what's in the fuge?

    2. If it was in the tank, what should I do while tank is empty to ensure I don't get it? Vinegar? Scrape real good?

I'd like to keep this fuge since its established, but not at the risk of infecting my DT.

Aso, is a DSB advised or rubble pile? I want pods to thrive

    Thanks

If it's in the fuge, it'll spread to the DT for sure.

I agree that if they are in the fuge they will get in the main tank...evil little critters

I wouldn't risk it all! plus do you really know what's in that DSB? past medications/copper/bacteria/etc?

I'd scrap it and start fresh!

    True on these points.

What's your opinions of keeping the chaeto?

chaeto's cheap on craigslist and ebay, tearing your tank down in the future, prob not worth saving $20! IMO, sorry, but that's a huge risk to save a little bit of cash!

My appologies for jumping in with this not-in-the-least-bit-useful comment, but...

Doesn't Aiptasia in Fuge sound like the title to a piece of classical music?

So I need input on the tank.
This fuge was part of the same sys I'm about to use tank, pumps,
    SterIlizer n skimmer from.

Think I'll be ok if I clean them all well? Should I use vinegar? Bleach?
    Elbow grease?
