hello everyone i am new to the marine way of life.
i have just bought a load of live rock bout a week ago put it into a nice arrangement and started to notice different things growing and im not sure if theyre bad or good i have scanned the net and askd a few questions but i dont want to get rid if its good
    please help
if you look carefully at the first photo you will see the 2 somethings with hairs around them also you will notice a brown thing with a little red dot. its up and to the left a bit this is alive and is the tail which sticks out

the second photo i have been told is an unopen one not sure but it is alive.

I think they are talking about the creature on the bottom of the rock in the middle of the pix. It is hard to see but I see small tubes with tenticles coming out.

look up mojano and aptasia and see if it matches what you have. They are one of the few that can survive a new tank startup.

The first picture looks to be spirorbid worms, which are good filter feeders in tanks. Keep an eye on the green on your rock, make sure there aren't signs of bryopsis growing. The great thing about buying live rock is that you never know what will pop out of the crevices. The scary thing about buying live rock is that you never know what will pop out of the crevices. I always quarantine any new LR I buy in hypersalinity water in big buckets, to drive out any baddies that may be hiding. I had a baby mantis come out once, he got sold to my LFS for $5. :D

they may be aiptasia heres a picture of what my aiptasia looked like before i killed it [IMG] also if it is aiptasia go to your LFS (fish store) and ask them for a liquid to inject the aiptasia with. theres a lot of them that work good. it cost me 17$ and i must have killed about 40 of them because i ripped them out before and they spread like crazy. now i got them all :)
