Well it appears that loyalty, hard work and sacrifice don't mean a thing to a company worried about its bottom line. I was laid off on Fri. afternoon. So it appears that my tank will have to remain the way that it is until I find something else, no small task. I have applied for around 15 or 20 jobs since learning of my lay off. Nothing to speak of.
If there is anyone in greater Phoenix, AZ area that has any opportunity for a fellow 3 Reefer, it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
    Richard

I feel your angst. Working for Chrysler for 30 yrs. I went through plenty of lay offs, never knowing if I was going to get called back or not was stressful. I will consult the Lord on your behalf and you will find a job even better, remember, sometimes one door must be closed so another can open.........

Don't let it get you down, as unclejed said.... sometimes one door closes so another can open:end:

I got laid off 2 days before christmas, on march 2nd I started a new job, supervising the group that laid me off..... and got a 5 figure pay raise to boot:deal2::sunny::trampolin:drummer::drive::beer:

Thank for all the positive thoughts. It is just very scary. I have not looked for work in so long. I hope that the old school ways still work.

Best advice is get a head hunter, it opened alot of doors at companies for me that weren't open to the public, at least in technology knowing the right people seems to help more than what you know

Sorry to hear of your loss. My largest client declared bankruptcy owing me a LOT of money. At first, I thought, "Hey, no biggie, I'll just get a job". It seems doing that is easier said than done.

    I wish you luck.

I've lost two jobs in my life.. they weren't career jobs but I know it's a bad feeling. Can't imagine losing a job you've had that long. If I lost mine I don't know what I'd do.

So sorry to hear that - times are tough man :( I wish you luck ... everything seems to happen for a reason, and sometimes you never see why until it works out in the end.

Im sorry to hear this. Although I have little experience in the working world (in college) I dont look forward to the stresses of working incredibly hard for something that can so easily be taken away by someone higher up more worried about their stock prices than the livelihood of the people who really run the business.. Good things will come your way, I know it.. I mean if you can keep a reef tank and manage it, you probably are in the top 5% of intelligent people in the world.. keep your head up, good things come to good people..
    have a good evening..
