Ok so your tank is starting its cycle you got your dry rock a couple pieces live and a 50/50 light because you need some money. Any ways can you add hermits and snails in beginning or will the cycle kill them. and if you have to wait when can you put a bunch of the little guys in. as always thanks in advance.

Not sure about snails, but I put a hermit in my tank two days after I filled it. And its still alive and happy.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
They may make it, but you may stress them too much. IMO it is not a good idea to cycle with fish or inverts. A cuc need something to eat and adding food to the tank only causes a higher ammonia value thus contributing to stress for the cuc if not death.

Me I would wait until the cycle is complete, you have done a water change and you have some GHA starting to grow before adding a cuc.

+1 to Corailline's post. Also no need to run lights until the cycle is finished and you have animals in the tank.
