I finally have my 75 Gal tank up and running with about 30 lbs of live rock and 30 lbs of dry rock. Mostly new sand but a little live from someone else's tank to start the process. Sump is up and running with a protein skimmer and the fuge has a DSB with some live sand in it. My question is when should I add a CUC and chaeto into my fuge. Should I wait to see how much of a cycle my tank goes through? I assume that there is nothing much established yet for a CUC to feed itself on. Pointing me in the right direction would be a huge help!!

I would add the chaeto immediately. And the Cuc when the cycle completes (no ammonia/nitrite) The chaeto will help the cycle and the CuC may die from it!

The chaeto should help absorb some of the ammonia and nitrite and speed the cycle up!

i'd wait till the cycle is complete for the CUC! I put like half a CUC in after that and then waited for some algae to get kicking to add the other half to help prevent me from feeding my CUC! bad part is, double shipping that way!

Same vote here. If you got or can get chaeto add it. The CuC though, your gonna want the tank to cycle first.
