Currently I have a Purple and Hippo tang in my 75g...I currently have rock and no corals and have ordered some 150 snails...Would I be OK adding a small blue jaw right about 4" or so...I'm concerned he may try and fight with the purple...any suggestions? Thanks.

I would be more concerned with the purple lighting up the blue jaw... Have you added fish to the tank with the purple before?

how big are the purple and hippo?

A small purple might not be a problem - but anything near adult size will likely spell trouble for new inhabitants.

Aye, they go for the eyes. I'd shut down the lights etc... I used to hate adding fish with my yellow tang.

And just my random bit of thought processes: I have kept many triggerfish. Never a bluejaw, but fish can sometimes tell their aggressiveness by the shapes of their mouths and the teeth that they have. If you compare a bluejaw trigger to a blueline trigger, you will have varying mouth/teeth shape both designed for different stuff. In the case of the bluejaw or niger trigger, they aren't really designed for shredding things up like a blueline.

You can tell a lot about a fish by the shapes of their mouths.

Weapon to weapon, the purple tang has it. The bluejaw doesn't even have an eyespot on their tail.

I don't think anyone will lose any blood over it though. The tang will just be shifty for a little bit... I don't think I have ever seen any real damage from a tangs shank, but they do go after the eyes.

Blue Jaws are pretty passive too. That purple might have its way with it.

Well let me say that I did recently just shake up all the rock and it has only been 4 days since their habitat has been completely re-done. Would that help? Also I added him and the Hippo in together...Also have a blue spotted goby. The purple is not quite full grown..maybe 3-4" and the hippo is around that too...

Exactly. The Blue Jaw will initially be shy and probably want to hide. Two tangs and a trigger in a 75 is pushing the aggression limit.

It could work if the purples territory was just disrupted. If your going to attempt it, I would advise add the blue jaw in soon before the purple has claimed its territory in the tank.

Not only aggression limit but the size limit. You're really pushing it already keeping two gangs in a tank as small as a 75, let alone thinking about the trigger. Doesn't really matter about size of fish or the bioload. That's a lot of aggressive fish to throw in a 75. Even when they are small they like their territories to be pretty big. Just my two cents.
That being said I agree that the purple would go after the blue jaw over anything else. Blue jaws are not shy at all, but at the same time they are not aggressive at all. Personally the blue jaw is probably my favorite fish I have ever kept. Mine loves to be hand fed. Here's a pic of mine:
