My acrylic is seamless, and the only bonding is on the back edges, and even those look way less ugly than the silicone on my glass

^^ thast how my tank is too.

i think im just gonna chalk this up to the grass being greener over there type of thing. theres pros to both, and one serious pro for glass, at least for me, is the use of razors for cleaning.

I agree. One of the biggest advantages to acrylic for me is the weight. When we move and we have alot in the last few years, I can move my tank by myself. I dont think it would be too easy to move a 100g tank by myself.

I've had my 125 for 16 yrs. I've always used the Kent marine proscraper 11 with the long handle. Works great!

i guess that would be important,it's acrylic. One thing you don't want to do is let coralline stay on the sides to long or get to be a large patch because it will stain the acrylic. I had a strip along the bottom next to the sand about 1/2" wide that was stained and would'nt come out even with a acrylic scratch removal kit. But I still like acrylic better than glass.

You might want to try a couple of Blue Tuxedo Urchins - They love coralline algae.

I've had both acrylic and glass over the years. Acrylic is a bit clearer....but it comes with a price and I agree, it's a pain to maintain without scratching. I've had snails scratch my 150 acrylic tank by just climbing up the front panel. If your tank grows a lot of coraline, it's a pain getting it off without scratching, unless you don't clean it or you clean the panels regularly... I like keeping all panels clean of coraline, I don't think I'll ever go back to acrylic.

    Most urchins scratch acrylic.
