I was thinking of getting a thick piece of acrylic for a frag rack after reading that people get algae blooms with the white and black stuff. I have used an acrylic in-tank refugium and that always got the brown algae on the bottom of it. I don't know if it ever goes away because I removed it soon after. Does the acrylic leach phosphates?

Acrylic should not leach anything into the tank. Think about it this way, if it did we wouldn't have acylic tanks, sumps or fuges. Pretty much all of the equipment we buy for our tanks are made from acrylic or lexan as well, overflows, skimmers, reactors, etc. The diatoms will grow on the acrylic as well, it's just easier to clean it off the acrylic slate than the eggcrate. I have an extra acrylic frag rack that I don't need, I'll put that up on here for anyone that may need it. :)
