    drip acclimation works best IME.

If you have a sump, you can float the bag in there while you drip acclimate to temperature acclimate - this is equally important as water parameter acclimation.

    Here's how:

first get a "binder clip" or some kind of clamp wide enough to fit over the rim of your sump's top lip. (make sure you either put a cloth inbetween if its an all metal clip or the clip is coated so it will not scratch.)
Next get a 6' or so long piece of regular airline tubing
Open the bag and clip one side of the open bag to the side of your sump so it does not tip over as you fill it with water (very slowly).

Now tie a square knot (regular old knot) in the airline tubing. Stick one end of the tubing in the DT and secure it (use a magnet, another clip, a wire from a powerhead - anything that will make sure it does not come out of the DT.

Next you will want to start the siphon and adjust. Once your siphon has been started pull tighter or loosen the knot until you have a 3 drops/second. Now be sure to secure the airline tubing (that is why i use Binder clips) to the sump so it stays in the bag while acclimating.

Allow this to go on until the volume of water in your bag has doubled or tripled (should take at least 25-35 min). If you can get the shrimp out gently without dumping all that water in you just put into the bag - good. If not, try to get the shrimp out with as little water as possible from the bag going into the tank.

I did the same as above except I put all the contents of the bag in a rather large plastic mixing bowl and tied 2 knots and slow drip for about a hour remove water as needed. The tranfered the little guy with out him ever leaving the water into my DT.

Just be sure to temp acclimate as well!!! If the water is not actively heated or controlled otherwise the temp is sure to drop over even a few minutes - unless the air temp where you have the tank is about 80 degrees :)

Perfect application for that spare equipment! I don't think it's a problem to be using it for such a short duration. You can even use a zip loc bag filled with hot water to bring temp up - just be sure to use a good thermometer to make sure you do not overdo it!
