I got my new acclimation box from Elite Aquatics today. Perfect timing too!

Here is my yellow hali chrysus wrasse getting acclimated to it's new home.;D

These are a great way of introducing new fish into your system. Keeps stress down on both sides, because everybody gets to come and say hello first.

i had one of those except it did not have the holes so the water was entirely separate from the tank. i found it to be a death trap, any fish i put in there would be dead within an hour whether he was getting acclimated or just too bullied so i had to separate him from everyone. im sure the vents help alot though.

More and more I'm thinking about using those. I have 3 wrasses 2 tangs and 2 damsels (ones a false perc. clown) It is nice to check each other out. Do you think putting a bit of PVC pipe might help the boxed specimen from undue stress, or would that affect the easy of familiarity in your opinion. Hopefully Hunter chimes in on this too.

Interesting so no valves for adjustment like the CPR one?
    The slots determine flow rate?

Its more of an Isolation box than acclimation. So that the fish can become used to each other and HOPEFULLY avoid that initial fighting that can result in injury.

Yes this. I guess the word acclimation was a little misleading.

I've been using one for over a year now, and have been advocating their use for nearly just as long. It's something I outlined in my wrasse guide (see signature). You use one once, and you observe the drastic difference.

Indeed. And it works wonders. I leave mine in for 2-3 days, on average. Sometimes longer if I'm observing some undue aggression. Another advantage here is you can get the new addition eating before you release them; another potential complication of a new addition. Just removes another stress factor.

Yes, I definitely advocate a piece of PVC in there. A 90deg elbow works nicely. You'll be surprised how a simple piece of plastic can keep that new guy calm.

Something that's been recently brought to my attention: The link I provide to the company which I purchased my acclimation box (4CORAL) is no longer in business, although their site is still up :/ . I plan to update that bit in my thread/guide soon, with a couple of options for purchase. The Elite Aquatics one Dowtish has shown here is one of those options.

Thanks for the input Hunter. I sorta figured it would help but having no experience I deferred to your wisdom.
