    CPVC is susceptible to leaks. Keep a GOOD eye on your system.

    Thank you for claifying this but there is another reason why ABS is not used for water lines, it tend to get soft and really flexible when it gets hot, or around 140 to 176 degrees. So it cannot be used for hot water pipes. It actully melts at only 9 degrees above the boiling point of water or at 221 degrees.

    If your using the Rubbermaid Brute cans you might want to rethink that. Read this post by Eric Borneman and decide if you can to continue using them.

    Obviously you did not read the last several sentences of that article, its all supposition and nothing definite. I agree when new any plastic container needs to have the plasticisers and mold release agents rinsed off, after that it is probably not a problem for the untold thousands of us who use them.
