so I briefly came across this led bulb (screws into a normal light intake). im sorry i cant find a link to the direct product as i cant remember if it was philips or another brand but the specifications were the following:

    "warm" light
    actual watt: cant remember
    watt intensity displayed:60Watts
what caught my eye was the apparent 230° illumination all around.

im looking to set up a double 30cm X 30cm, one sided algae turf scrubber (in an L shape if you will) and was wondering if this bulb was enough for an efficient algae growth.

from what i understood from the package it has no red spectrum, its literally like a normal bulb but led....

No, leds don't work like other bulbs, algae needs most of the light from the 660nm spectrum and the only led that can give you this is a red led 660nm, other colors of leds will have different wavelength unlike other types of bulbs that can give you full spectrum.

If you want led get red leds with blue on a 6-8:1 red:Blue.
